Bitumen can be packed in drums, polybags, bulk vessels and bitumen tank containers.

Polybags: For packaging in polybags, polypropylene or polyethylene bags are used for packaging and storing bitumen. Bitumen is cooled down to a temperature slightly higher than the softening point and lower than the melting point of the plastic liner material of the bag into a special polyolefin bag and is let down to harden to become solid for easy handling and cold transportation in polybags.
Bulk Containers/Tank Containers: For larger quantities, bitumen can be transported in bulk containers or tank containers.
Drum Coating: To prevent adhesion and ensure easy removal, the interior of the drums is often coated with materials like polymers or wax.
Palletization: Drums are often palletized for ease of handling and storage.
